Gateway Community Outreach wants to share with you the incredible donation that Publix Super Markets Charities has generously donated to our organization. They generously donated $14,000 dollars! This amazing organization has helped literally thousands of people with the money they have donated to Gateway Community Outreach over the years. They help families become self-sufficient because this money goes towards food and utilities vitally needed by those who need a hand-up. We are proud to announce that Gateway Community Outreach Inc. was awarded Best of the Best Charity in Our City Readers’ Choice 2019 edition. We have helped thousands of local families, seniors, and individuals in need of a hand up. We do this with food, economic assistance, and various types of other support. This usually happens after a financial downturn or challenging crisis in efforts to re-establish their self-sufficiency. We are honored to be voted the Best Charity of 2019. This accomplishment is among our valued communities and Our City readers. We would like to offer a special thank you to our sponsors and colleagues. With their selflessness, we have helped to sustain our mission to protect, restore and transform many lives within our communities.

On October 28, 2017, Gateway Community Outreach Founder, President & CEO, Carol Ray was recognized for her efforts in guiding Gateway Community Outreach and serving those in the community who are suffering for over 22 years.
She received the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award during the Broward National Recovery Month ceremony. In her acceptance speech, she said, “It is an honor to be presented with this Lifetime Achievement Award.” She added that “Share your testimony, share your recovery and share your victory. We all are recovering from something.”

Gateway Community Outreach helps address the needs of the hungry and the homeless in the community. The Gateway Community Outreach mission is to safeguard and protect our most vulnerable community members. We do this by providing food, housing assistance, referrals, and intensive case management to those in need of emergency aid. Their goal is to feed the hungry, prevent homelessness and help clients reach self-sufficiency.
They assist over 30,854 clients each year with a staff of 5 and nearly 300 volunteers. Through 6 satellite locations Gateway provides food and emergency assistance to prevent homelessness through the utilization of our Federal EFSP and Foundation grants.
Their successful program utilizes a case management system, consisting of a 90-day plan to connect clients with services and referrals. Some examples are food, baby needs, gift cards items needed rent/mortgage, and water bill assistance.
